When should you put your coat on in Sweden?

In Sweden, when leaving someone's home, wait until you get to the doorway to step outside before putting on your coat. To do so earlier suggests you are eager to leave. When entering or departing a Russian home, it is considered very bad form to shake hands across the threshold.

What was the 'Tet Offensive?'

On January 31, 1968, North Vietnam attacked U.S. and South Vietnamese troops and reached the American Embassy in Saigon. It was a surprise to U.S. troops because January 31 was the Vietnamese New Year's Day, traditionally a day of celebration — not war. This attack was called the "Tet Offensive."

When was Kermit born?

Muppets creator Jim Henson first created Kermit in 1955 -- as a lizard. He was made from Henson's mother's coat and two halfs of a Ping-Pong ball (no flipper feet or eleven-point collar). He didn't become a frog until 1968.

When was the Notre Dame catherdral completed?

Notre Dame de Paris ranks as one of the greatest achievements of Gothic architecture. The famous cathedral was begun in 1163 and completed around 1345; the massive interior can accommodate over 6,000 worshippers. Its famous gargoyles were added much later.

Where is the world's largest mustard museum?

Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, is home to the largest mustard museum in the world, housing 1,493 different varieties from Argentina to Switzerland and 48 of the U.S. states. Of yellow mustard alone, the museum has about 200 varieties.
