What are most diamonds used for?

Only about 20 percent of diamonds are made into jewels. Because they are so hard, most diamonds are used to make tools such as dental drills and metal cutters.

Do owls see in the dark better than humans?

We think we cannot see at night. But given enough time to adjust, the human eye can, for a time, see almost as well as an owl's. Ultimately, as the amount of light decreases, an owl detects shapes after a human no longer can.

How long did it take to make a mummy?

The bandaging of a mummy often took from 6 to 8 months. It required a collection of special tools, including a long metal hook that was used to draw the dead person's brains out through his nose.

What became of the first animal in space?

Launched in Sputnik II, Laika, a female Samoyed, became the first animal in space on November 3, 1957. She died when her oxygen supply was exhausted, and her capsule incinerated on reentry to the earth's atmosphere.

Do snail have teeth?

Snails have teeth. They are arranged in rows along the snail's tongue and are used like a file to saw or slice through the snail's foot.
